Besides getting to attend some really cool events, I’ve got to admit that the most exciting part for me is when a picture I took, or a story I wrote, gets published for the whole world to see! It’s a new hobby for me to just google my name and see what comes up (say what you want, but that makes me famous in my book!) … but keep in mind there’s a professional poker player with the same name, so if you feel the urge, search “Jennifer P Harman” ;~)
These are my images & stories that have been published …
090524-N-7361H-017 NEW YORK (May 20, 2009) – Master at Arms 2nd Class Rodney W. Erickson, from Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL, and his Military Working Dog (MWD), Caesar, interact with students from Eltingville Lutheran Elementary School, as they arrive at Stapleton Pier to tour the ships in port during New York Fleet Week 2009. Approximately 3,000 Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen from the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard will participate in the 22nd commemoration of Fleet Week New York City 2009. This event will provide the citizens of New York City and the surrounding tri-state area an opportunity to meet service members and also see the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services. I like to try to capture human emotion … but that’s not always what the Navy is looking for when selecting images for publishing. I love seeing images that invoke some kind of emotion in me, and I’ve realized that I have a passion for trying to portray that in my images.
